About this experience
Architectural landmarks of various styles, history of Helsinki's foundation, outstanding historical figures - an experienced guide on a sightseeing tour will introduce you to the most important aspects of the Finnish capital. And will not overlook the most interesting objects in the vicinity.
Program
Several options for getting to know the city:
- For those who are in the city for the first time, we will walk through the central streets of the city and explore the main sights. From the railway station, we will head to the neoclassical center at Senate Square, visit the market square, Esplanade Park, and walk along Alexander Street.
- For those already familiar with the historical center of the city, we invite you to stroll along Töölö Bay. The area was shaped under the influence of the world-famous Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto in the 1970s. It is also interesting for its new architecture: the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Sanomatalo publishing house - the living room of the townspeople, and the House of Music. During the tour, fragile femininity will be juxtaposed with brave masculinity: the first beauty of the 19th century Aurora Karamzin and Marshal Mannerheim - what could bind them together? At the end of the route, guests can visit the Winter Garden on their own or return with the guide to the railway station.
- In addition, you can visit Juniper Island. Here you will learn how the peninsula turned into an island and the slums turned into a prestigious residential area in Art Nouveau style. On the island, you will find: the Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos - the largest in Northern Europe, the prestigious restaurant
