4 in 1: Dolmabahçe Palace, Basilica Cistern, Süleymaniye Mosque, and Little Hagia Sophia
About this experience
Travel through centuries awaits you on our group tour for up to 20 people. You will discover the vibrant facets of Istanbul's history and culture in the luxurious halls of Dolmabahçe Palace and its Harem, in the magnificent Süleymaniye Mosque, and in the church of Little Hagia Sophia. Learn about architecture details, sultans' lives, and visit picturesque viewing platforms.
What to Expect
Dolmabahçe Palace, where you will be transported to the times of the last sultans of the Ottoman Empire. Explore the Ceremonial Hall and ruler's chambers, peek into the Harem, and imagine the days of the sultan's women. See a 2-ton crystal chandelier, trophies, armor, and gifts from kings and emperors worldwide. You will also have time to walk the grounds and take photos at the elegant gates.
Süleymaniye Mosque, named after Süleyman the Magnificent, perhaps the most famous Ottoman Sultan. He is buried in the mausoleum on the mosque grounds with his wife Roxelana. Hear the story of their love, appreciate the mastery of architect Sinan, and be impressed by the panorama of Istanbul.
Little Hagia Sophia - we will visit one of Istanbul's oldest surviving churches. You will discover what temples it was inspired by and learn how the mosque got its name.
Basilica Cistern (Binbirdirek) - we will peek into the ancient water reservoir of Constantinople, located in the historic center of Istanbul in the Sultanahmet area. You will see with your own eyes the underground cistern built between 428 and 443.
On Sundays, the Cistern is closed: we will take you on a tour of the Church of St. George.
