About this experience
Many believe that the history of the UAE began in 1971 with the start of oil production. Not at all! The former 'pirate coast', center of the British protectorate, and pearl hunting hub, Dubai is full of amazing stories. I will tell you about its past and show you the best places of the 'city of the future'. Let's talk about the lifestyle and philosophy of Arabs, as well as the secrets of the 'Eastern economic miracle'.
What to expect
A city that never ceases to amaze
Skyscrapers and malls, hotels and beaches - the usual attractions of Dubai. And on this guided route, they are certainly included. But as in any city, there is a historical part here. Behind the modern glass and concrete towers are districts that remind us of how it all began. I invite you to travel to the past - and then 100 years forward.
Old districts
In the early 20th century, Dubai was a small port town with 10,000 residents. The Al-Bastakiya district reminds us of those times - the perfect place to get acquainted with the history and traditions of the country. I will help you navigate the maze of alleyways, show you a small colorful market, and the remains of the old fortress. Then, we will cross the Dubai Creek canal on a traditional abra boat and visit the famous Gold Souk and spice shops.
Modern city
To see where the border between the old and new districts of Dubai lies, we will head to the Golden Frame. I will tell you what exactly the project symbolizes and what views are offered from the observation deck at a height of 150 m. If you wish to visit it, please inform me in advance - I will take care of the tickets.
Another moment - and you are surrounded by the splendor of modern Dubai. You will learn how incredible architectural wonders like the Burj Khalifa tower, the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel, Dubai Marina bay, and Bluewaters Island have risen amidst dust and sand.
