About this experience
Al Ain is a city on the border with Oman and a place where noble families of Abu Dhabi and Dubai trace their lineage. Here, the sandy landscape gives way to rocky desert with pockets of oases. You will visit the palace where the founder of the UAE lived and learn how life emerged in these regions almost 5,000 years ago. Discover that the Emirates are not just skyscrapers, but also traditions that date back centuries.
What to Expect
- Enjoy the freshness of the Al-Buraimi Oasis and stroll in the shade of date palm trees. I will tell you why the history of the UAE began here.
- Visit the walls of the Al Jahili Fort, where the country's history was shaped. Once the palace served as the home and main center of government for the UAE's founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
- Explore the Hili Archaeological Park and investigate the 'Hafeet Tombs' complex. These are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Learn how and why life originated here 5,000 years ago.
- Sit at a trendy cafe at the foot of Jebel Hafeet Mountain, where locals often gather. Experience the city's atmosphere, enjoy a coffee, and learn about the culture of this beverage in the Gulf countries if you wish.
- We will end the journey by watching the sunset from the top of the region's third highest mountain. You will see the city in all its glory from a height of over 1000 meters.
