Exploring the UAE: Indian Ocean, Mountains, and Ancient Architecture
About this experience
The UAE is not just about technological metropolises in the middle of the desert and luxury. To prove this, we will take you to lesser-known but picturesque and historical places. You will appreciate ancient architecture - the Al Badia Mosque, a 16th-century fortress, and mountain landscapes with ocean views. We will also stroll through the streets of Khor Fakkan - life here is completely different from Dubai and Abu Dhabi!
What to Expect
Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah. Let's start our journey from one of the newest mosques in the country. You will enjoy Ottoman architecture, see precious marble and stone brought from all around the world.
Al Badiyah Mosque. We will travel back 5 centuries and see the oldest active mosque in the UAE. Dating back to the 16th century, its architecture is unique - experts still argue about its style. We will also explore the fortifications from the Portuguese dominion in the region and discuss how it influenced the territory.
Ancient Fortress. Continuing our journey into the past, we will visit one of the oldest fortresses in the UAE from the 16th century. Enjoy the view of the city and sunset from a height, sipping coffee!
Old Town of Khor Fakkan. After the sunset, we will walk through the streets of Khor Fakkan to try Emirati sweets and have some karak tea. We will stroll around the traditional market and observe the life of local residents - you will learn how their way of life differs from life in the metropolises.
Organizational Details
- One-way journey will take 1.5-2 hours
- The price includes a transfer in a comfortable car from Dubai and back. The start of the tour from other emirates or remote areas of Dubai can be discussed separately.
- The program will be interesting for adults and children over 13 years old
