About this experience
The Hoover Dam is a prominent landmark of two states: Arizona and Nevada. Spanning across the Colorado River right on their border, it impresses with its sheer size. We will walk through this marvel of engineering, discuss its creation, and admire the dam from different angles, including from above.
What to Expect
On the way to the Hoover Dam, we will stop at an observation deck of Lake Mead and enjoy the wonderful views: the lake is surrounded by picturesque hills, between which winds a serpentine road.
We will stroll on the huge dam, spanning the Colorado River. We will cross the border of Arizona and Nevada, comparing the time on their clocks. We will talk about the construction and structure of the dam, assess its scale in height and width. And we will admire the amazing color of the river water. If you wish, you can climb the bridge near the dam and look at it from above.
