About this experience
Here you will find designer and antique shops, a magic museum, the building of a winter circus, and the oldest market in Paris, built back in 1615. And for dessert - the most delicious fresh berry treat in the city!
Program
The Marais is my favorite place in Paris! Let's meet at the town hall of the 4th district. If it's Wednesday or Saturday morning, there will be a lovely farmers' market here. We will walk through this historic quarter thoroughly, and you will see where the gay community hangs out, and where orthodox Jews make the tastiest falafel in town!
I will show you one of the smallest theaters in Paris, one of the most delicious homemade French cuisine restaurants - les Philosophes, we will walk to the Place des Vosges, where Victor Hugo lived. On the other side of Rue de Rivoli, Saint-Paul Village is hidden in courtyards, a place where you must wander around the brocades (something between a flea market and a garage sale). Numerous cafes, designer and antique shops, a magic museum...
Then, through the narrow streets, we will pass by the Picasso Museum and the bustling cafe La Perle to the garden behind the archives building (I assure you, not every Parisian knows about this oasis). And speaking of oases, I will show you another small and very cozy park on a noisy and shop street, known only to those who live nearby! Walking down Rue Vieille du Temple, passing designer shops and cozy restaurants, we will reach Rue de Bretagne, where there are hardly any tourists (they usually get stuck in the shops or the Picasso Museum).
I will definitely show you the oldest market in Paris - Marche Des Enfants Rouge, built back in 1615! Not only has it survived, but it is thriving, thanks to all the stalls with the freshest produces of the country, and most importantly - plenty of restaurants right on the market premises. I hope by this time you'll be hungry, then you can have lunch with Moroccan, French, African, Italian, or American cuisine. After that, I will take you to the winter circus building and show you one of the most stylish shops in Paris Merci, with its cafes and small restaurants, where you can enjoy coffee and instantly devour a fresh berry dessert!
I am a professional photographer, so if you are interested, for an additional fee, we can combine the tour with a photo shoot.
