About this experience
Skaret is one of the largest and most well-known eco-archaeological parks in the world. It is a paradise for family vacations and undoubtedly one of the brightest pages of a Mexican voyage. Getting lost on the vast, chaotic territory and missing out on the opportunities Skaret offers is as easy as pie. That's why it's so important to visit the park with a guide. With me, you will learn about the local flora and fauna, Mayan architecture and beliefs, modern traditions, and culture. You will also attend colorful performances and various attractions.
What to Expect
All Facets of the Grand Project in the Yucatan
You will hear a brief history of the creation of the park, which is a modern man-made creation that is amazingly harmoniously integrated into the surrounding landscape. Each item on the program will be a reason to talk about various aspects of traditions, nature, and history. You will learn about the fantastic animal and plant world of Mexico, get acquainted with Mayan culture near the ruins of ancient monuments, discover the art of 'charreada' horse riding. I will also share some life hacks: for example, I will tell you where you can taste rare Mexican wines and how to secure VIP seats at the evening show.
Fantastic Flora and Fauna
You will visit the garden of exotic butterflies, stroll along jungle trails, and visit the amazing coral reef museum-aquarium. The park also offers various nurseries where you will see pink flamingos, macaws, and the famous keel-billed toucan, as well as stunning representatives of felines (leopards, pumas, and jaguars), monkeys, crocodiles, tapirs, and many other animals!
Cultural and Entertainment Activities
I will tell you about the peculiarities of underwater swimming in underground and regular rivers, besides, you will be able to swim and relax in a beautiful inlet. You will visit the House of Whispers with interesting special effects, attend the Charro horse show, see the Air Flyers ritual, and pre-Hispanic dances of the Toltecs. In the evening, you will watch the daily show about Mexican traditions and history, which features colorful performances about the culture of different regions and epochs.
Mayan Civilizations Ruins
Near the ruins of the city of Polé, you will learn about the ancient pre-Columbian ritual centers and the cult of the Moon Goddess. You will inspect the remains of pyramids and residential houses in the Mayan village.
