About this experience
During this guided walking tour, you will see Milan through the eyes of locals, learn how to navigate the city, and discover where to go and what to do in the world capital of fashion. The Cathedral of Duomo, Sforza Castle, the historic district of Brera, and many other places will reveal the secrets of the 'second capital'.
What to Expect
National Flavor
Milan is the birthplace of Italian fashion, so it is not surprising that the first landmark on our way will be 'Needle, Thread, and Knot'. You will hear the story of the monument's creation and the secret of the tricolor thread that seems to sew the earth. Starting the conversation about decorative art, we cannot miss the landscaped park where exhibitions are held. You will stroll through its avenues in the shade of magnificent plane trees, see colorful parrots, a lake inhabited by ducks and turtles, and cross the bridge of the Little Mermaids to reach the medieval Sforza Castle, where Leonardo da Vinci served.
Marble Wonder
Right in front of the castle stands a monument to the famous Italian who contributed to the unification of Italy. We will talk about the personality of Giuseppe Garibaldi and decipher the symbolism of the bronze sculptures on the pedestal. Walking through the colorful streets of Milan, you will find yourself at the ancient city hall. Standing on the Market Square, you will try to guess why there are exactly six entrances to it, hear about the 'five days of Milan', and admire the flaming Gothic Duomo cathedral, where Napoleon was crowned.
Treasure Trove
You will learn about the current exhibitions at the Royal Palace of Milan and the operas playing at La Scala Theater, see the monuments to Victor Emmanuel II and Leonardo da Vinci, and hear about the masterpieces of the Brera Pinacoteca. We will not go inside museums and cathedrals, but we will explore the most interesting and significant places. You can decide for yourself whether you want to visit them later.
