Embark on a trek through the incredibly picturesque Kyrgyzstan that is suitable for both experienced hikers and beginners. We will explore off-the-beaten-path locations, enjoy the unity with nature and stunning panoramas. Admire the beauty of the Irtyk Canyon, visit a high-altitude lake with vivid turquoise water, conquer the Alakul Pass standing at 3860 meters. Additionally, relax in thermal springs and swim in Lake Issyk-Kul. Join us for the romance of mountains, campfires, and starry skies!
Organizational Details
Participation is possible from the age of 16, ages 16-18 must be accompanied by parents.
The route is not classified as difficult, no special hiking experience is required, but participants should be in good physical condition and without medical contraindications to physical exertion. Everyone is responsible for carrying their own personal items during the trek. The additional weight per person (shared equipment: tents, pots, etc.) is 5-6 kg. The average weight of a backpack for women is 15-18 kg, for men - 18-20 kg.
Transfers from Manas Airport to Karakol (and back) will be on a comfortable minibus. The same minibus will take us to the starting point of the active part of the route.
On the last day of the trek from Altyn-Arashan to Karakol, we will transfer on a military truck (GAZ-66 or ZIL-131) - the road is very bumpy; expect a rough ride.
Flights from Moscow to Bishkek (Manas Airport) are available daily from Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports. Direct flights are operated by Aeroflot (miles program is not valid for flights to Bishkek), Ural Airlines, Pegasus Asia, Avia Traffic.
Russian citizens do not need a visa to visit Kyrgyzstan. Citizens of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and Belarus can enter Kyrgyzstan using either an international or an internal passport.
We highly recommend obtaining medical insurance with an option for "Trekking activities above 3,500 meters". The insurance coverage should be at least $10,000. The insurance policy must cover the evacuation of the injured (evacuation coverage should be at least $5,000). Without insurance, all risks related to transportation and treatment fall on the tourist.
