About this experience
I invite you to explore the history of Argentina and the architecture of Buenos Aires. During the tour, you will learn about the major historical events, how the city's appearance changed from colony to republic, and why Buenos Aires is called the Paris of Latin America.
First, we will drive along the widest street in the world - 9 de Julio Avenue, past the city's first synagogue and head towards the political center. We will find ourselves at the historical May Square, the site of the city's foundation. There we will see the pink house (government residency) with the balcony where Evita Peron usually addressed the crowds. We will also see the Cabildo, the colonial municipality building, and the cathedral.
Next, we will move to the colonial neighborhood of San Telmo, with its cobblestone streets and antique shops, the residence of bohemians and artists. We will walk around Dorrego Square, where thousands of tourists visit the flea market every Sunday, which has been operating here for half a century.
Our tour will continue in the La Boca district with its colorful houses, home to artist workshops and studios. We will stroll along Caminito Street to immerse ourselves in the distinctive atmosphere of this neighborhood with its love for tango and football.
Then we will continue our tour in Puerto Madero. This is a new residential area near the river with a beautiful waterfront with yacht moorings. In this area, there are several designer hotels, modern architecture, luxurious restaurants, and elite real estate.
Leaving Puerto Madero, on the way to the northern part of the city, we will pass Retiro - the first railway station in the capital, where we will see the English tower. The next stop will be Palermo district, where we will pass by its lakes, rose garden, and huge parks - a favorite place for porteños (city residents) for long walks and sports activities.
And we will end our tour at Recoleta, the most prestigious district of the city, where we will visit the colonial-style church of Our Lady of Pilar, the second oldest in the city, and go to the legendary cemetery to visit the tomb of Eva Peron, the wife of President Juan Domingo Peron, who gained immense love from her people and became famous as Evita.
