About this experience
Embark on a journey to unique places created by nature and humans. Encounter the beautiful flora and fauna, learn about the legends of the island and the secrets of the local tribe, see picturesque fields, hills, rivers, and tropical forests. This excursion is tailored for those who wish to immerse themselves in the true nature, culture, and atmosphere of the most beautiful of the Philippine islands.
What to Expect
Down the River!
The journey begins in Tagbilaran City, from where we will travel deep into the island on a comfortable minivan. You will see endless rice fields, learn about the history and legends of the island. The first stop is a picturesque river engulfed in greenery, where you will enjoy a walk on a floating restaurant with a buffet table, sampling traditional Filipino cuisine. And then you will see a reconstruction of the life and traditions of the indigenous Ati tribe, which still resides in the Philippine forests: you will learn what Bohol looked like in ancient times, play the drums, shoot a bow, and take many photos of dancing children.
Mysterious Hills
On the way, I will tell you interesting facts, traditions, and the modern way of life in the Philippines. Closer to the center of the island, the next stop awaits you — the Chocolate Hills — a natural wonder included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The mystery of the formation of these hills is shrouded in darkness: scientists still cannot tell exactly when and how they were created. You will hear Filipino legends about their appearance and learn about the impressions of people who consider themselves clairvoyant about this place.
Meeting the Fauna
You will take a stroll through the tropical butterfly garden, where you will learn how strange hermaphrodite butterflies are formed and why they are called Lady Gaga. Another stop awaits you at the Sikatuna Wildlife Sanctuary, where you will meet the stars of funny internet videos — adorable tarsiers. Why do they have such big eyes and long tails? What do these tiny creatures eat at night? You will learn all this during the interaction with these animals.
Red Forest and Bamboo Bridge
Another amazing stop along the way is the Mahogany Red Tree Forest. You will see the cutting of one of the trees and take photos without leaving the beautiful trail passing through this man-made forest. In addition, you will walk on a bamboo suspension bridge over an emerald river. Another unusual experience is meeting the Coconut King, the Philippine superstar, who possesses a unique talent: no one in the world except him can crack coconuts with his teeth. The sound of cracking will echo in your ears for a long time. After stops near the Blood Compact Monument and at the Baclayon Church, we will return to the pier.
