What to expect
'Little Paris'
On the way to Dalat, you will learn about the life and history of the young city, built during French colonization as a refuge from the summer heat of Saigon. I will tell you about the main attractions of the 'city of eternal spring', its unique climate and natural features that attract both locals and travelers here.
Beauty of Dalat Waterfalls
The program includes two waterfalls: Datanla and Pongour. You will appreciate the picturesque cascades, take a stroll in the beautiful area, and have the opportunity to ride elephants and ostriches (additional fee).
Buddhist Temples
Next, you will visit the Chuk Lam monastery on Tuyen Lam Lake, which translates to 'spiritual balance'. Being here, you will understand that the name fully corresponds to the atmosphere of the place: a temple surrounded by a pine forest, by the reservoir, creates a soothing impression. In one of the largest Zen monasteries in Vietnam, you will learn about the characteristics of this religious direction. And then visit a small temple where, at the highest point of Dalat, there is a 24-meter statue of the Sitting Buddha.
Quirky architecture of 'Crazy House'
Speaking of architecture, this extraordinary hotel is perhaps one of the symbols of Dalat. Incredible interweaving of roots and branches, mazes, and stairs have turned this place into a real fairy tale. Examining the details of this colorful building, you will learn about the author of the project - Madame Hang Nga, daughter of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who lived and studied in Russia for 14 years. You will also get a view of the surroundings from a local viewing platform.
Silk Factory
After lunch at a local establishment, you will visit a small silk factory, where you will learn about the works of local female embroiderers. Here you will learn about the intricate technique of silk thread embroidery, which takes 5 years to learn - imagine, it takes whole years of hard work to create one piece of art!
