About this experience
I invite you to follow the route that was passed on to me as an inheritance from the main architect of Antwerp and, incidentally, my husband's grandfather! It is remarkable because it shows the city in all its glory and reveals different eras of its life: from the 7th century to the present day.
What to Expect
I will take you on my husband's grandfather's favorite route: a native resident and the main architect of Antwerp. It covers all the most interesting places in the city: grand streets, the Red Light District, the butcher's quarter, and more. During the 3-hour walk, you will:
- Visit a timeless museum and enjoy the city from a panoramic viewpoint
- Walk through the secret streets of sailors
- Discover where the hero of local legends, Brabo, hides
- Enter the treasure trove of the Dominicans and the hideaways of the butchers
- Find yourself at Golgotha and learn why Rubens hid under a prostitute's skirt
- Decipher the secrets of German Gothic and Europe's first stand-up comedy
And that's not all!
Organizational Details
- The tour is suitable for adults and children over 12 years old, as the route includes the Red Light District
- Optionally, you can visit: the Church of the Dominicans - 5 euros, the Cathedral of Our Lady - 10 euros
