Chennai is one of the largest cities in India, located in the state of Tamil Nadu. On a comfortable car, we will drive through its colonial center with British architecture. We will visit the Hindu temple Kapaleeshwarar and the Christian cathedral of St. Thomas. We will climb the lighthouse and enjoy magnificent views. We will discuss local traditions and amazing features of life.
What to Expect
I will show you the city's highlights:
- Kapaleeshwarar Temple - a vibrant Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Built in the 7th century BC, it will impress you with masterfully crafted sculptures and many interesting details. Using it as an example, I will reveal the main features of Dravidian architecture.
- St. Thomas Cathedral - an ancient Christian church. You will admire its restored facade in the Neo-Gothic style, and also enter inside to see the tomb of St. Thomas.
- Lighthouse at Marina Beach - one of the few lighthouses in the world with an elevator. You can climb to its viewing platform and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city.
If you wish, we can visit the local market or have an authentic Tamil lunch. We can also stop along the way to have refreshing coconut water, sugarcane juice, or rose milk.

- The excursion takes place in a Kia Carens car with air conditioning. Transportation is included in the price.
- Additional expenses: entrance tickets to the lighthouse - $2, food and drinks (optional)
- If desired, I can conduct the tour for a larger number of participants. The surcharge per person will be $35.
