About this experience
Bratislava has a curious history: Celtic, Roman, Slavic, Hungarian settlers all called this place home, and during the Turkish invasion the city even became the capital of Hungary! All these layers of history unfold as you stroll through the Old Town.
What to Expect
Meet us in the historic center of Bratislava, and you will see why our city is one of the most fascinating in Eastern Europe ;)
Bratislava is small in size, so it can be easily explored on foot. We will talk about the city's role in history, how Bratislava evolved, how to spot the mix of four nationalities here, and what it's like living on the border between two other countries' capitals.
During the pleasant walk, we will explore all the city's highlights:
- The majestic St. Martin's Cathedral, where Habsburgs were crowned as Hungarian kings for almost 300 years;
- The Slovak National Theatre: learn about the celebrities who have graced its stage;
- The Archbishop's Palace, where Napoleon's victory was confirmed in 1805;
- Michael's Gate - the only monument left from the medieval city fortifications of the 14th century;
- The incredibly beautiful Main Square with the Maximilian Fountain (16th century) and the Old Town Hall (13th century);
- The Franciscan Church (13th century);
- The Mirbach Palace (18th century);
- The Zero Meridian.
