About this experience
Can one simply talk about music without listening to it?
What to expect
You will walk along the grand Andrassy Avenue, visit the Jewish Quarter and Budapest's Broadway. You will admire the building of the music academy, opera house and cheerful operetta theater. And maybe even dance! You will also learn about concert halls, clubs, and festivals where the city's main musical events take place. The walk will end on the Danube promenade. Along the way, I will tell you:
- who was the local piano star of the 19th century and the role women played in his creativity;
- what is special about the Stradivarius violin and which songs all of Europe sang;
- which emperor disliked the Budapest opera;
- which Hungarian melodies we are familiar with from childhood without even suspecting it;
- what rock and martial arts have in common.
Even if you are not interested in music at all, you will enjoy the walk! Because musicians are amazingly interesting people with incredible destinies.
Organizational details
