About this experience
Samarkand plov in the evening is a rarity, as it is usually only cooked from 12:00 to 13:00. But there's a way out! The best chefs in our city have started making plov at a tea house for guests. You will have the opportunity to taste this wonderful dish and then take a pleasant walk to the iconic sights.
What to expect
We will pick you up from the hotel and head to the tea house for evening Samarkand plov. This is where the locals eat, and they know their stuff. You will learn the secrets of preparing the main national dish and, of course, taste it. After a hearty dinner, we will go on a tour of evening Samarkand:
- Drive through the Russian part of the city. You will see University Boulevard, built during the period of Tsarist Russia by Governor-General Abramov.
- Explore the mausoleum of Tamerlane Gur-Emir - a place filled with secrets and legends.
- Study the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, built by Tamerlane's favorite wife. You will learn about the difficulties she faced during the construction.
- Visit the Registan - the central square of the city. The guide will tell you its history.
During the tour, the guide will introduce you to all aspects of life in Uzbekistan - local traditions, customs, religion, culture, and also talk about the history of the people from the medieval period to the present day.
